I used to stick to Maya 2013 for about 10 years until i changed job last year. Maya 2013 took 2-3 seconds to start as opposed to Mayay 2024 which takes almost 2 minutes to boot. I started using it in 1997 and it was an absolutely fantastic piece of software for 20 years- i have been using 3dsmax and Softimage (not XSI) too. Then Autodesk absolutely ruined it, which is sad but now there is Unreal and Blender and no need to pay for their scummy subscriptions any longer.
Btw. replaced Photoshop by Figma and Affinity too.
Any AppStore app that switched to a subscription model. Eternal vigilance required, so as not to "update" them.
